KING POWER AND MINISTRY OF TOURISM AND SPORTS PRESENT THE FIRST UNIVERSAL DESIGN RESTROOMS IN THE NORTHERN REGION
King Power has always been committing to giving back to the society through “KING POWER THAI POWER”. The group has a mission to strengthen communities sustainably. Recently, in cooperation with Ministry of Tourism and Sports, King Power presented the first universal design public restrooms in “KING POWER THAI POWER HAPPY RESTROOMS” project. The universal design public restrooms are convenient for men, women and those with disabilities. Universal design public restrooms reflect that the country takes care of everyone in every condition. The goal is for 10 communities in tourism areas to have such public restrooms, valued over 10 million baht in total. The 10 projects are expected to be completed in December 2018.
Recently, the two parties, represented by Minister of Tourism and Sports Weerasak Kowsurat and King Power Group CEO Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha presented the first Happy Restrooms at Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden in Mae Rim, Chiang Mai, which is the country’s largest botanic garden. Krit Thanawanit, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai and Ronnarong Sengiam Director of Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden were also present to give a warm reception to the visiting parties.
King Power is committed to collaborate with the government sector in promoting and developing favourable images of tourist attractions in Thailand to local and international travellers; especially the restrooms. Despite being basic infrastructure and facilities, restrooms are the main factor which play a vital role in creating positive impression among the tourists. At present, the quality of most restrooms for tourists is lacking and this is where “KING POWER THAI POWER HAPPY RESTROOMS” steps in. In addition to presenting the Happy Restrooms, King Power and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports also painted the benches inside the Garden and planted more trees in surrounding areas.
