Sport watches have always been a favourite, whether they come in an elegant or cool design. These three items are true sport watches worth getting to know.

IWC

IWC has long been known for its pilot timepieces, and the recent Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII Edition ‘Antoine de Saint Exupéry’ is made in honour of pilot and author of ‘Le Petit Prince’, Antoine de Saint Exupéry. This timepiece comes with an elegant tobacco-brown dial and 40mm stainless steel case with soft-iron inner case for protection against magnetic fields.

OMEGA

One of the most legendary diving watches, the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M is a chronograph watch designed for underwater adventures, offering Master Chronometer precision. It comes with a sapphire crystal case back on a 44mm stainless steel case which is water resistant to 300m. The new range features a blue ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel and matching wave pattern dial.

PANERAI

A watch designed for diving, Panerai presents a new edition of the Submersible Mike Horn Edition or PAM00984 to honour its long-time brand ambassador Mike Horn. The 47mm case is made with EcoTitaniumTM and is water resistant to 300m. On the personalised case back are engraved Mike Horn’s signature and Ocean life, Panerai natural playground. The watch has a 3-day power reserve and its strap is made of recycled PET plastic.

Two of the three timepieces below are from luxury sports watch collections that give a cool dressy look and awesome features, while the other one presents complex functionality in a raw and sporty vibe.  

CHOPARD

Luxury timepiece brand Chopard brings back the St. Moritz and redesigns it into the new sport-chic Alpine Eagle for men and women. This 41mm edition in two-tone steel and 18K rose gold is water resistant to 100 metres, with a sapphire crystal case back which unveils its automatic chronograph movement. The grey dial depicts the shimmer of the eagle’s eye.  

MONTBLANC

The Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Limited Edition exudes coolness in a 42mm bronze case, dedicated to the world’s Seven Summit mountaineering challenge. The watch, available in limited editions of 1,858 pieces, has two globes on the dial, with either one giving the view from the North Pole and South Pole on its green dial. They are both surrounded by a scale with the 24 time zones, along with a day/night indicator. The automatic watch is water resistant to 100 metres.

VACHERON CONSTANTIN

The Overseas collection from well-established brand Vacheron Constantin features the aesthetic and technical attributes of sports watches. This time, the Overseas Dual Time will win the heart of businessmen who love sports and travelling. The second time zone comes with a bold red-tipped hand, with an AM/PM indicator powered by an automatic movement visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The 41mm case is made with 18K pink gold, and the watch is water resistant to 150 metres.

SPORT RETRO

One of the hottest watch trends today is vintage sports watch. Some are remakes of their original versions, while some are new models created with vintage elements.  

RADO

Captain Cook is one of Rado’s sports wristwatch legends from 1962. A few years ago, Rado brought back the model and succeeded. Recently, Rado launches the Captain Cook Automatic Bronze. The watch is 42mm in size and comes with the  unidirectional ceramic bezel and a green dial. It is water resistant to 300 metres and features an 80-hour power reserve.

LONGINES

Longines has always been met with overwhelming success whenever it brings back its legendary models. This time, the simple yet elegant Heritage Military 1938 comes with a matte black dial inspired by military watches, in a 43mm case. It is water resistant to 30 metres and features two and a half hands. This new edition features the same hand-wound movement as the original one in 1938 and a NATO-style leather strap.

SEIKO

Seiko has recently introduced the “Save the Ocean” series, working with aquanaut and ocean conservationist Fabien Cousteau as an official Save the Ocean ambassador, and Thai actor Ananda Everingham. Part of the series is the Prospex ‘King Turtle’  Automatic Diver’s 200m Save the Ocean Special Edition, a stainless steel watch with a turtle shell design of the original 1975 Seiko’s watch.
