The Greatest King: The Country’s Source of Life

THE COUNTRY'S SOURCE OF LIFE Throughout the 70 years of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s reign, His Majesty had initiated more than 4,000 projects for the benefit of the country and the people. Among those, more than 2,000 projects were related to water and irrigation. Having visited every square inch of the country, His Majesty was aware of water problems and the importance of water management. His Majesty’s first water project was Khao Tao reservoir in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province, back in the summer of 1962. After paying them a visit, His Majesty saw that the people lacked fresh water for consumption and agriculture. Therefore, His Majesty ordered the building of a reservoir to collect rainwater instead of letting it flow into the sea. Power Exclusive: The River of Life for Thai People

THE RIVER OF LIFE FOR THAI PEOPLE “The King is water, and I am the forests who always pay respect to water,” said Her Majesty Queen Sirikit when visiting Ban Tham Tew, Song Dao district, Sakon Nakhon province on December 20, 1982. Her Majesty Queen Sirikit had always worked tirelessly alongside His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, particularly in conserving the forests of Thailand. Their Majesties had visited every part of the country and learned about the hardship that people in rural areas faced. Forests were disappearing, both naturally and due to deforestation. Without forests, seasons would be affected, and everyone would be affected. Her Majesty encouraged people to grow trees near Phu Pha Lek in Ban Tham Tew. Her Majesty entrusted Thanphuying Suprapada Kasemsan and Col Rewat Boonthap to prepare a rai of land to grow around a hundred trees to set an example for the locals. The project was called…

King Power Group, an international leader of duty free retailer, led by King Power Group CEO Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, has a goal to improve every aspect of Thai society in a sustainable fashion with the launch of “KING POWER THAI POWER”, a project to support Thai people in every aspect.The first activity is to support Thai youths in sport. “Sport Power” aims to improve football skills among Thai youths nationwide by building football fields for schools to allow children to have a place where they can exercise and spend their free time doing something constructive. A total of 20 schools will see a new football field in 2017, and by 2022, a total of 100 schools will benefit from this project.
