King Power reiterates its brand philosophy of “We are travellers too” with King Power Chinese New Year 2019 The Blissful Harmony – a Lunar New Year celebration for visitors travelling to Thailand which runs from 4 – 17 February 2019 from noon to 9 pm.

King Power has turned its fountain square into traditional Chinese tavern – a rest stop for visitors to sample a wide variety of delectable dishes created by famous restaurants. Everyday visitors will be entertained by a dazzling show with highlights include a dramatic art of Chinese mask-changing performed by the Institute for Chinese Performing Arts, a Chinese fan dance, a Chinese puppet show featuring the Seven Angels Dance, and a Chinese musical performance. It is also a good opportunity to seek blessings from Chinese deities. Of course, there are plenty of products for sale and activities bringing good luck and fortune as well special promotions at fountain square, King Power Rangnam.

The celebration was launched on 5 February 2019 with a big celebratory show entitled “Welcome to King Power Chinese New Year 2019 The Blissful Harmony” starring actress Mai – Davika Hoorne. She took on the role of a beautiful governess welcoming all visitors to the King Power’s tavern accompanied by a spectacular fountain dance.

King Power is hosting more than 50 booths which are decorated in Chinese market style and divided into 3 zones; Food, Desserts and Charms & Trinkets. Meet famous restaurants including Oh Ki Moo Satay (pork satay), Yoo Look Chin Pla Yaowarat (fish balls), Hoi Tod Chao Le (oyster omelette), Nai Chia Gao Lad Yaowarat (chestnuts), Khao Kha Moo Trok Soong Bang Rak (stewed pork trotters with rice), Gui Chai Talad Plu (Chinese chives dumplings), I Tim Khai Kaeng Saint Louis (frozen eggs ice cream), and Wan Por Dee Chiang Mai Khanom Wan (mango with sticky rice and other desserts). Shop fashion items and jewellery from Andre Jade Accessories, Aclaire Stingray Jewelry, Leila Amulets, and ISSUE.

Visitors can seek blessings from Chinese deities; Guan Yin – Goddess of Compassion, Cai Shen – God of Wealth, Xiao Fo – Smiling Buddha, Tai Sui Ye Gong – Grand Commander of the Year, and Ta Lao Ye – Tiger God.

Throughout the event, customers with a receipt of 800-baht spending can redeem a Pixiu bracelet (limited to 200 pieces per day) or bring a combination of receipts of 3,000-baht spending for a vintage photo shoot where you are decked out in Qing Dynasty costume. Another way to earn a free vintage photo shoot is to look for 8 hidden auspicious Chinese characters.
