Thailand International Wind Symphony Competition is Now Open

Seeking Those with Music Passion Aiming for Professionals

King Power Thai Power in partnership with College of Music Mahidol University is organising the wind symphony competition for the year 2021 which is open to the general public of all ages, genders and nationalities. Get your band together and brave through the screening of our panel of veteran judges featuring of A-listed producers, famed songwriters and top music directors including the likes of Chodchapak Pholthanachod, Tritsadee Srimuang and Wichian Rerkpaisan who have championed a number of artists. The competition is on a quest to find music talents who would like to pursue a career of professional musician and the will award the winning bands with a prize money worth up to over THB 680,000.

Qualifications and Judging Criteria
• Class E (General Public Level)
No restriction on the age and the nationality of the entrants provided that entrants are not signed to any record label. There must be 8 – 14 members; with mandatory members being a singer, a drummer, a bassist, a guitarist, a keyboard player and another 3  players of wind instruments. Additional members must be not more than 6, e.g. a string instrument player, a percussionist, a chorus singer, a lead singer or any other wind instrument player, of which must be stated in an application form. The use of the sequencer computer data or any other kind of pre-recorded music is not allowed.

• Class F (Secondary Education Level)
The entrants must be in secondary education level with all members studying in the same institution or school and are not signed to any record label. There must be at least 8 – 14 band members; with mandatory members being a singer, a drummer, a bassist, a guitarist, a keyboard player and another 3  players of wind instruments. Additional members must be not more than 6, e.g. a string instrument player, a percussionist, a chorus singer,a  lead singer or any other wind instrument player, of which must be stated in an application form. The use of the sequencer computer data or any other kind of pre-recorded music is not allowed. In the semi-final and final round, all entrants must perform in their own school uniform only.

Terms and conditions of the video demo submitted for preliminary screening
1. Two songs are required for submission; one uptempo and the other downtempo.
2. The length of each song must not be shorter than 3 minutes but not exceeding 6 minutes.
3. Upload the video demo onto YouTube and set the uploaded video as unlisted only. The URL of the video demo must be enclosed on an application.
4. Identity Verification Documents
General Public: A photocopy of national identification card or passport of every member
Secondary Education: A photocopy of a document certified the student status issued by an institution or a school an entrant is currently attending
