Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation

The English football season is due to restart following its suspension of slightly less than 3 months due to COVID-19 outbreak. From 1-30 June 2020, Leicester City supporters are able to apply for a rebate on tickets already purchased for the Club’s remaining fixtures – including four Premier League home matches and the FA Cup Quarter-Final tie with Chelsea.  At the request of a number of supporters, an option was made available to donate a proportion of those refunds to the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation and its work supporting our community’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Within the first week of rebate, a number of supporters requested to donate a proportion of refunds to the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation which was amounted to 64% of Season Tickets and match tickets or £80,218 (approximately 3.1 million Baht). Association Professor Khunying Sumonta Promboon, Ph.D. was present as the fund recipient on behalf of Chitralada Technology Institute at King Power Rangnam.

To Support Medical Sectors and Staff Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation made another contribution to support the morale of medical staff who are working at the forefront of the ongoing battle against COVID-19 in the hope that all Thai fellows could survive this outbreak by presenting 45 million Baht to 3 medical sectors for use in treating infected patients, acquiring medical equipment and other medical preparations needed to tackle the critical situation. Concerned with this grave situation, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation was aware that the situation calls for financial support in various areas and the foundation also decided to make this contribution in order to carry on the wish of its late founder and president – Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha who established this foundation with an unwavering determination to assist and support social contributions especially in education and public health of Thailand. Khun Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, was present during Khun Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation President, submitted 5 million-Baht fund to support the operation of healthcare and medical staff across Thailand to Dr. Suwannachai Wattanayingcharoen, Director-General of the Department of Disease Control, at the Government House.

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation President Aimorn  Srivaddhanaprabha and the foundation committee presented the fund worth 20 million Baht to The Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute is a medical institute of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. The fund was presented to Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., Pornchai Mulpruek, Clin.Prof., and Pairoj Boonkongchuen, M.D. at King Power Rangnam on 20 March 2020.

Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation expressed its concern over the COVID-19 outbreak and boosted the morale of every healthcare staff member and Thai people by presenting the 20 million fund to Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute in a bid to help combat the COVID-19 outbreak. Apichart Vachiraphan, M.D. director of Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases received the fund at King Power Rangnam on 13 March 2020.
