You might be familiar with a drawing of this short-haired chubby-cheeked girl on social media somewhere on your timeline. This forever smirking girl always comes up with some feel-good messages. This simple and ordinary drawing style attracts massive crowd to follow Sibbil character page which has enjoyed 1 million followers and counting. Today we’d like to introduce you to Sibbil as she is our collaborator on the month of love’s exclusive project.
Nan – Chanida Tantiyapitak began humbly by setting a character page on Facebook under a pen name of Sibbil for her daily drawing practice in order to find her own unique style. Nan graduated from Silpakorn University before moving on as a full-fledged illustrator and has been working on Sibbil page since 2012. She said one of the things that entice her followers to share her drawing online is because it is a simple drawing with a message which people can easily relate to. Instead of typing plain message on social media, people let her drawings speak for them as her drawings tend to revolve around what is going on in everyone’s lives ranging from festivals, food, weather to self-encouragement and many more. She has her way in wording which makes viewers feel good and that is how she gave precious little joy in life for her followers. When she started out, this was still rather a novel thing in the social media world so she has gradually gained more followers and Nong Tanggua has gained massive popularity.

She is the main and beloved character on Sibbil page due to her cheerfulness, optimism and positive thinking. Nong Tanggua drawings were shared online so much so that she became an online darling. You may question where Nong Tanggua comes from. Certainly, no one knows this better than the creator – Nan – who uses her own self as an inspiration in drawing Nong Tanggua; be it an appearance or manner. As Nan adds her own insights and spirituality to Nong Tanggua, the drawing is no longer an ordinary drawing and Sibbil is brimming of stories that reflect positive real-life perspective that Nan wants to convey. Sibbil has become the page where you could find sharable images to pass on encouragement, inspirations and positivity for all.
